PERSONAL TOUCH
From the oversized voussoirs, to the carved windowsills and lantern, much of this project would be very different without our input. Among the assets we bring to the table, a knowledge of what is possible and feasible is key. All of these details were fabricated either onsite or in our shop.

WORKING WITH LARGE STONE
We love challenges, they stretch our abilities. On this project, we faced the task of installing a 2,700 lb mantel piece inside a house. To add to the interest, its final location was 12 feet above the floor. I won't bore you with the details of shoring the floor, rigging the stone, etc., but it went smoothly and we think it looks great.

IN THE PINES
This project on Keowee has it all. Beautiful reclaimed mill brick. Large river stone in a soft honey brown color. Gentle curves and obtuse angles. Craftsman details throughout. We had a lot of fun with this one. Compound curving corners are very challenging. The whole project has a soft appeal and looks like it has always been on it's private peninsula surrounded by trees.

PROVENCAL PARADISE
This was an interesting project at Lake Keowee. This project exemplifies everything we love about this trade. We were more or less turned loose by the architect and homeowners to do our thing. We looked through hundreds of images to get a feel for the homeowner's taste, and as we worked, all the elements came together better than we hoped. There is an old Scottish saying that, while not very politically correct, gives voice to the synergy that occurs toward the end of a project. "Only women and fools criticize a stone wall before it is done". We think you can leave out the "women" part...
You are looking at the front of an underground wine cellar, built in a rustic Provencal style.

A brick detail from the same project. We take our inspiration from the lovely brickwork displayed in the historic mill buildings in our area.
These spiral columns are not often done. This is the kind of project we really enjoy.

A couple parting shots...
